CLEAN ENERGY NOW!

WWF, the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Renewable Energy Coalition launched in November a Clean Energy campaign to push for the passage of the Renewable Energy bill.  The bill supports the development of renewable energy such as wind, biomass, hydro, solar and geothermal.

WWF's PowerSwitch! scenario, a roadmap for sustainable energy, shows that there's more than enough renewable energy potential in the country– 1,200 MW for geothermal, 2,308 MW for hydro, 235 MW for biomass and 7,404 MW for wind.  Increasing the share of renewable energy in the country's power mix will reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels such as coal and oil, and will result in savings amounting to US$ 2.3 billion for a 10-year period.

Help make fossil fuels a thing of the past. Text WWF YES [your name] to 2366 for Globe, 2344 for Sun Cellular, or 367 for Smart and Talk N Text (PhP2.50 per SMS sent) to let the government know that you want the Renewable Energy Bill passed into law.
